Ambassador Dr. Kodzo Alabo is an astute academic and a career diplomat of over three decades working experience. He once served as the Diplomat-in-Residence (Associate Professor) at the Legon Centre for International Relations and Diplomacy (LECIAD) at the University of Ghana, Legon. As a career diplomat with a strong track record with the Ghana Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration (MFARI), Ambassador Alabo served in Italy, Angola, India, and Russia, ending his diplomatic service to the nation as Ghana’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation with concurrent accreditation to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Mongolia, and Ukraine.

Prior to his appointment as Ambassador, Dr. Alabo served in various senior positions at the MFARI, including Director of the Africa and Regional Integration Bureau between 2010 and 2014, making him Ghana Government’s Chief Adviser on African, African Union and ECOWAS affairs. He was a member of the Ghana delegation during negotiations of the United Nations’ Arms Trade Treaty. He was also instrumental in major milestones in bilateral and multilateral business negotiations with several countries.

Ambassador Alabo was educated at the University of Ghana, Legon and Kiev State University’s Faculty of International Relations and International Law in Kiev, Ukraine. He possesses a Masters and a PhD degree in International Economic Relations and holds post-graduate diplomas in Management and Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and International Relations from Nairobi University in Kenya, respectively.
